Passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, May 25, 1983 at his home. Age 46 years. He was born June 29, 1936 in Saginaw. He married Barbara Lantz June 15, 1957 in Saginaw. She survives him. He was a member of the First Christian Church West, the U.A.W. Local No. 699. Mr. Schimpf was employed at the Saginaw Steering Gear for 25 years. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Laurence (Cathy) Tafel, Holly Schimpf, Michael S. Schimpf, Scott D. Schimpf, all of Saginaw; one granddaughter Sara Tafel; his father Fred Schimpf, Saginaw; one sister and one brother, Mrs. James(Barbara) Lange and David Schimpf, both of Saginaw.
Funeral service will take place 11a.m. Friday at the Deisler Brothers Funeral Home, 2233 Hememter off State. Rev. David Wheeler will officiate with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Hemmeter after 2p.m. Thursday where the family will be present from 2 to 5p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. on Thursday. Those who so desire may make memorials to the Michigan Kidney Foundation.
