Obituary:

Simon Hayn, of whose demise we made mention in a recent issue, was buried Thursday the 3rd from St. Anselm's church at 10:00 a.m. Requiem Mass was sung by Rev. Father Reinhardt, who also briefly but feelingly spoke of the deceased's sterling virtues as a citizen, husband and father and as an active member of the church. The large attendance was an eloquent tribute to the deceased's noble character and the high esteem in which he was held by all.

Rev. Father Connolly of Michael gave final absolution while Rev. Father McGrath assisted the choir. Simon Hayn was born December 8, 1841 at Lanfenbach on the River Main; was married to Miss Anna Ludwig in the year 1867 whose union was blessed with eight children, four boys and four girls. He emigrated to this country in 1881.
