Duane "Bud" Darling, 74, of Loving died Monday, June 26, 2000.
He served 14 years as a superintendent for the Loving School District and helped create Loving's first high school. He was formerly a teacher, coach and principal in the Carlsbad and Capitan school districts. He lived in Loving for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia (Darling) Rosa.
Survivors include his wife, Jonell; his sons, Gary Darling and Kenny Darling; his daughter, Peggy Cope; his brothers: David Darling, Charles Francis and Ernest Francis; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
