The other son Michael, died in the same year as Stephen, 1824. Stephen's first wife was Sarah born 1795 and with her they had two daughters, Susan Ann Bower born 1818 and Sarah Ann Bower born 1820. The mother Sarah and her two daughters died on the same day September 23, 1821. The girls were 2 1/2 years old and 10 months old when they died. Their mother was 26. We do not know how they died. It is written on their headstone "The Mother and 2 children died same day."
