A service for Dewey Manery, 63, Mead, who passed away Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Streetman Road Baptist Church. Rev. Durlin LeJeune will officiate.

He was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Mead, to Joe Floyd Manery and Flora Vival Hoskins. He attended schools in Cobb, Mead and Colbert.

He married Cindee Braddock May 5, 2001, at the Faith Temple in Durant. He owned Manery Masonry for 42 years and worked in construction and masonry. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved raising cattle. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Streetman Road Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Chris Manery; daughter Darla Manery; brother Bobby Manery; and sister Cletha Mae Mosley.

He is survived by his wife of the home; son Ricky Dale Manery and wife Maryann, Mead; brother Joe Manery and wife Phyllis, Colbert; sister Doris Bretz, Anaheim, Calif.; grandchildren: Jeremy Foreman, Shelby Royston, Jennifer Taylor, Marissa Taylor and Kristopher Taylor; many other relatives and a host of dear friends.

Interment will be in Platter Cemetery with Sonny Reeves, Hoss Reeves, Gene McDaniel, Scott McDaniel, Billy Taylor and Jerry Martin serving as pallbearers.

Family hour will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Brown's Funeral Service is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
