SELLERSBURG SCHAFER, JEROME CHARLES, SR., 75, died Saturday. He was a retired auto mechanic at Jim O'Neal Ford in Sellersburg, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Joe Catholic Church and Men's Club, American Legion Post #204 Color Guard, Knights of Columbus and Clark County Democrat Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Schafer. He is survived by his sons, Mike (Susan) Schafer of Louisville, Joe (Cindy) Schafer of Frankfort, KY, and Jerome "Chip" (Kristie) Schafer Jr. of Borden, IN; a daughter, Sharon M. (Wayne) Howlett of Sellersburg; two brothers, Carroll and Clifford Schafer, both of Charlestown, IN; a sister, Kathleen Lentz of Jeffersonville, IN; five grand- children, Jessica, Jacob and Wesley Schafer and Chris and Bradley Howlett; and a special friend, Tillie Fink. His funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joe Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joe Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and noon-8 p.m. Monday at Garr Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Indiana or to St. Joe Catholic Church. .
