Elsie G. Goebel Arnken, 96, of Clifton Heights, died Oct. 12 at Little Flower Manor in Darby.

Born in Germany, Mrs. Arnken lived in Clifton Heights for 67 years. She previously resided in Philadelphia.

She was employed with Colonial Mortgage Service, later GMAC, as a receptionist, secretary and mortgage loan assistant.

Mrs. Arnken was a member of the Wanamaker Cadet Corp. in the 1920s and 1930s while working at John Wanamaker Department Store in Philadelphia.

She was the daughter of the late Louise Wirtz and Joseph C. Goebel.

Survivors: Daughter, Margot A. Wright of Kirtland, Ohio; son, Gerald W. Arnken of Wallingford, Nether Providence; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Service: Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Road, Springfield.

Visitation: 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Burial: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Township.

Arrangements: O'Leary Funeral Home, Springfield.
