She was born at Moyers, W.Va., on Aug. 25, 1916, the daughter of the late Acre and Louie Moyers Rexrode. Edith attended Thorn School, was a homemaker and a mother and attended Calvary Lutheran Church. She was married to William Olie Eye, who preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1964.
Ms. Eye is survived by: three daughters, Clona Brown and husband, Ed, of Brandywine, W.Va., Dorene Long and husband, Don, of Bridgewater, Linda Bayne and husband, Les, of Crimora; a son, Kenneth Eye and companion, Brenda Cook, of Brandywine, W.Va.; a brother, Ted Rexrode of Grottoes; a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Rexrode of Franklin, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Edith was preceded in death by: a son, Elwood Paul Eye; a granddaughter, Barbara Miller; four brothers, Beverly, Bruce, Roland, Russell; and a sister, Evelyn Lambert.
Family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, W.Va. The Rev. Tony Martin and Pastor Jessica Hamme will conduct funeral services in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Brandywine, W.Va. Memorials may be made to South Fork Fire Company.
