Sullivan County Democrat DOWN THE DECADES in an issue printed Tuesday June 20 2017 page 6B: "1877 The residence of Mr Michael Heidt on East Hill 2 miles from Jeffersonville, was burned.
The cause is supposed to have been a defective stove pipe.
The property was insured for about $700 in the Homestead fire Insurance Company and very fortunately for Mr Heidt his claim against the company is therefore, valid."

37 years ago he united in marriage with Elizabeth Ellenberg at Youngssville after which they lived in the city for a few years and then settled on the farm where he died.
9 children born to them one of whom, Lena, died many years ago.
Leaves widow and the following children: Mary wife of Hugo H Hellstern and Lizzie, wife of Chas O'Brien of New York; Kate, wife of Henry Scheidt, and Eva wife of red Frey of Youngsville; Henry of Liberty and John, George and Charles at home.
Also 3 brothers and one sister - Peter and Chars Heidt of near Youngsville; William of Neversink and Mrs Maggie Hack of New York
