Sarah was born in Howard Twp., Centre Co., PA, the fifth child of John Grube and Barbara Hoy. She married Andrew Hauck ca. 1849, presumably in Jefferson Co., PA. She died on the home farm in Bell Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

Sarah's parents moved from Centre County to Jefferson County in 1833, purchasing a large tract in Young Twp. (now Bell Twp.), which was later divided up among the Grube sons. The Andrew and Sarah Hauck farm was also located in Bell Twp.

Andrew and Sarah were the parents of eight children:
