UMPHRESS, MARY LYNDALL, beloved mother, gentle spirit, passed away October 9, 2003 at the age of 96 in North San Juan, California at the home of her son Donald and his wife Sharon who lovingly cared for her the past nine years.
Born and raised in Granbury, TX and a former long time resident of Dallas, Texas.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Sherman of 50 years, sisters Joyce Sweeney and Gertrude Tabor, brothers James and William Riley, grandson David Broyles, grandson Timothy Umphress, and grandson-in-law Caleb Carnevale.
Survived by sons Sheridan and wife JoAnn of Richardson, Texas, Donald and wife Sharon of North San Juan, California, William and wife Sally of Eagan, Minnesota and daughter Marilyn Broyles and husband Harrison of Richardson, Texas. Grandsons Dan Umphress and wife Vesta, Thomas Umphress and wife Karen, Michael Umphress and wife Laurie, Gary Broyles and wife Ann and Wade Umphress. Granddaughters Jauna Fingerson and husband Jeff, Mary Flaherty and husband Jay, Lisa Schiemann and husband Greg, Rebecca Anderson and husband Ken, Abby Carnevale, Michelle Broyles, Nancy Turner, Teren Lawler, 22 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family visitation Wednesday October 15, 2003, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral service Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 1:00 PM, Grove Hill Memorial Chapel, 4118 Samuell Blvd. Dallas, Texas. Burial to follow.
