Frances was the daughter of Johann Joseph and Elizabeth (Voss) Knoche. Her siblings included Joseph, Maria Theresa, Wilhelmina "Minnie", Anton, John, Frank, Bertha, Henry, and Franz. Frances married Anthony Fuerst on April 9, 1907.

The grave marker states the birth year of 1885; however, it is believed Frances was born a few years earlier according to census and marriage documents. The 1900 U.S. Federal Census states that her birth date is February 1880.
