William Reithmeier, 76, RR 3, Columbus, died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of the Columbus area and had been a blacksmith in the East Bristol area for many years. Mr. Eithmeier was born in Columbus on August 8, 1882. His parents were Charles and Barbara Reithmeier. He was married to the former Anna Wavra on May 26, 1908 in Sun Prairie and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in May of last year. Survivors, besides the widow, include one son, Edwin of Baraboo; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Benish of Columbus, Mrs. Grace Geischirt of Gleason, and Mrs. Minnie Schadel of Madison; two brothers, John of Amery and Charles of Portage; and one grandson. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, Columbus and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, East Bristol, with the Rev. Paul Grosse officiating. Interment was made in Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
