MR. HENRY GEHRING

Mr. & Mrs. Gottfried Gehring came to this country in 1868--first living in the town of St. Mary and afterwards in Wilton on section 13 where they now reside. Gottfried was for many years chairman of the board of supervisors of Wilton. He was always a very successful farmer. Mr. Henry Gehring, one of his sons, is also a prominent farmer. He was born in Marquette County, Wis., Dec. 25, 1857, and came to Minnesota with his parents in 1863. He married Miss Augusta Michaelis, daughter of John Michaelis , of New Richland. Augusta was born in Germany Sept. 8, 1866. She came to America with her parents in 1869, they first lived in Marquette County, Wis., then came to New Richland in this County in June, 1875. Henry and Augusta were married Dec. 5,1885, and have eight children, four sons and four daughters. They have a comfortable home and a well improved farm.
