ARMY VETERAN IS DEAD
PETER WALGENBACH WHO WAS A GERMAN SOLDIER DIES
STROKE OF PARALYSIS , WITH WHICH HE WAS STRICKEN DEC. 4, PROVES FATAL

A stroke of paralysis , with which he was stricken on December 4, proved fatal to Peter Walgenbach, an aged resident of Peru, who passed away at three o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. X. Werling, Jr., west Fourth street.

Mr. Walgenbach was anative of Germany and was born in 1832, thus he was eighty two years of age. In his early manhood he spent four years in the service of his country as a soldier. Later he sailed to America and settled near the village of Lacon. He then moved to a farm near Tonica, where he made his home until he retired from active life eighteen years ago. Since then he has made his home in Peru.

He was married in 1863. and his wife died years ago. He leaves the following sons and daughters: Jacob and Joseph, who are farming near Tonica; John of Peru; Mrs. Henry Hoscheit, Mrs. Ed Loekle and Mrs. f.X. Werliong Jr. all of Peru. a sister, Mars. Mary Berger, resides at LaMars Iowa.

Arrangements have been made to hold the funeral at ten o'clock Wednesday morning. Services will be held at St. Joseph's church and burial will be made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
