Frederick George Adolph Auer is the son of Frederick Auer and Louisa Beckmann. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland. His family moved to New York City sometime in the early 1860's.

Frederick married Georgina Mary Hogg about 1873 in New York City. They had 10 known children, 4 of whom died at a very young age. In the 1892 Brooklyn, New York State Census, only Frederick, Georgana, Louisa Hall and John Auer are enumerated. Four of the remaining children were put in the New York Juvenile Asylum about 1889 and put on an Orphan Train for Illinois about 2 years later. I think Louisa Hall is the first daughter born to Frederick and Georgina in abt 1875. Georgina either died or disappeared after the 1892 Brooklyn, New York State Census.

On 8 April 1894, Frederick married Isabella Calver Durham in New York City. In the 1900 census, they are living together with Fredericks youngest son, John.

On Feb 26 1907, Frederick died in the German Hospital in Brooklyn. He died of injuries sustained that day from falling off a structure while working for the Brooklyn Heights Railroad Company.

He was buried 1 Mar 1907, in the Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens, in Sec.34, Range 3, Plot R, Grave 8/9.

If possible, I would like to know if any other Auer's are buried in this Plot. It was owned by his 2nd wife, Isabella Auer.

Gravesite Details

The exact location of this grave is directly next to the Schneider grave...there is no monument or marker - and I did not see any other "Auer" graves in the area. MC
