She was the daughter of Mathais and Maria Britten Hurt. She settled with her husband Peter Schuster in Cleveland, Ohio. Four children died in Oakfen before they immigrated to Cleveland. They were Mathais, Catharina, Maria, and Joannes. Magdalena and Peter were the two children who came with them to Cleveland. Nicklas was born September, 1866 in the United States following the death of his father in May, 1866.
