John Marquart and Evelyn were married 17 Oct 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa. They were very much excited for the birth of their first child. It became a C-section birth. During this procedure Evelyn's appendicitis ruptured and she died 4 days later on 30 Mar 1935. Evelyn, herself, was born by C-section and her mother died 5 days later from infection. By 1940 John remarried to Clara and in 1950 John is married to Matilda E. It appears that by 1950 their son, Phillip, is on his own. As a young man Phillip joined the U.S. Army in time to participate in the Korean War. He became the father of two sons, David and Todd.
