Carl Winter Plymouth Post June 10, 1911

Elkhart Lake—Carl Winter, a well-known resident of this area, died at his home four miles east of here on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 93 years. He was born December 22nd, 1818 in Germany. Besides his wife (nee Margareth Hemp) he is survived by the following children; William on the homestead farm; Adam of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Minnie Lange of Sheboygan; Mrs. Augusta Eimmermann of Town Rhine, Carl of Kiel; and Mrs. Lydia Roehr of Plymouth. The burial is on Friday in Town Rhine with Pastor Zeh officiating.

Last week Tuesday at the home of his daughter, the widow Mrs. Auguste Eimmermann, in Town Rhine, Mr. Carl Winter one of the original settlers of the area died from natural causes at the high age of 92 years. The deceased was born in Germany on December 22, 1819 and came to America many years ago, where he married his now surviving wife who is 75 years old. Besides his wife, his sons; Adam in Sheboygan Falls, Carl in Kiel and William on his parent's farm, also three daughters and numerous grandchildren survive him. The burial took place on Friday at the St. Peter Church Cemetery in Town Rhine with Pastor Zeh officiating.
