A. Westendorf dies Tuesday

Adolph Westendorf, 72, of Teutopolis died at 9:45 am Tuesday, December 8, 1998, at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Mr. Westendorf was born December 26, 1915, in Island Grave, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Repking) Westendorf.

He was a retired plumber; a member of St Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874, Effingham American Legion Post #120, Effingham V.F.W. Post #1769; and served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include his niece, Mrs Art (Rosie) Brumleve of Teutopolis; two brothers, Charles of East Peoria, Nick of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sisters, Ellen Lustig of Chicago Heights, Ruby Alexander of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis with a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service and a 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
