Joel M. Cage, Tipton circulation manager of the Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis News, died at his home here last night of a coronary heart condition.Funeral Funeral services have been set for 10 a. m. Friday at the
Leatherman-Morris Funeral home, with Dr. F. E. Fribley in
charge of rites. Burial will be made in Sharpsville cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until time for services. The son of Benjamin Franklin
and Anna (Petty) Cage, he was born April 8, 1886 in Tipton
county. Cage was married to Sabrah Hoback in 1906. A semi -professional baseball player for eight years, Cage
was later a farmer in the Sharpsville community until
1936, when he retired from farm work because of ill health.
He has been in business activities since that time.
Surviving with the widow are the following children: Eldon
and Harold Cage, both of Tipton; Kenneth and Lowell, both
of Anderson, and Mrs. Bernice Johns and Mrs. Jeanette Moree, also of Tipton. Also surviving with 11 grandchildren are brothers and sisters, William Cage, Lynn; Roma Cage, Sharpsville; Jesse Cage, Kokomo; U.R. Cage, Tipton; Mrs. A.C. Reynolds, Wabash; and Miss Hazel Cage, Huntington.
