Theodore Christian "Ted" Friebus, son of Johann Christian [Carl] and Katherine Barbara (Preuss) Friebus, was born July 4, 1911, on the family farm in Phillips County. He received the Crown of Life April 26, at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 95.

Ted attended country school and helped his father on the farm. June 23, 1943, he was united in marriage to Irene Wodtke at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Norton. To this union, five children were born, Carol, Margaret, Richard, Vada, and Lila. Ted and Irene spent their entire married life on the farm where Ted was born.

He was an active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Norton and was a Sunday School teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl, Paul, Walter and Leonard; and one sister, Agnes Ekstrom.

Survivors include his wife, Irene, of the home; one son, Richard, and wife, Pamela, of Terre Haute, Ind.; four daughters, Carol Johnson and husband, Thomas, of Las Vegas, Nev., Margaret Thumann and husband, Curt, of Lacrosse, Wis., Vada Schleusener and husband, Keith, of Utica, Neb., Lila James and husband, Robert, of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Friebus of Omak, Wash., Gertrude Bohl and husband, Ervin, of Norton; and one brother-in-law, Norbert Wodtke and wife, Mary Jo, of Topeka.

Interment was in the Stockton Cemetery, Stockton.
