Lina Bolander, age 97, of Carlton, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Inter Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born June 5, 1905, in Barnsville, Minn. to Adolph and Anna (Weber) Oltmanns.

Her family moved to the Holyoke area in 1915. She attended elementary school in Clear Creek Township, before going to Central High School and Duluth Business University for clerical training.

She was united in marriage to Albert Theilbar and lived and worked in Dundas, Minn. until he passed away in 1932.

She returned to Duluth, where she worked until her marriage to Arthur Bolander on Dec. 1, 1935. They lived in Cloquet until moving to a farm in Wrenshall, Minn. in 1944. They moved to Pineview Apartments in Carlton in 1990 and to Carlton Nursing Home in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur; one sister Anna McCusky and five brothers, Herman, Otto, Fritz, Adolf, and Gerhard Oltmanns.

She is survived by her daughter Laurel (Burton) Wang of Wrenshall, Minn.; a granddaughter Vicki (Al) Pfuhl of Duluth, Minn.; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and three sister-in-laws.

SERVICE:At Lina's request there will be no services. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date at the Holyoke Cemetery. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet.
