Michael Kahtz died of old age at 1:30 o'clock, Dec 26, 1928, at Home in Teutopolis, being bedfast for over eighteen months, due to dislocation of the left hip, cause by falling.

Mr Kahtz was born Jan 6, 1839, at Eichsfiel, Meiltin, Province of Westprussia, circuit-capital DeutscenKron, Regierungerbexirk Arienwerder, Germany. Deceased came to America in June 1853. He worked two months in New York and then came to Alton, Madison, Illinois, USA, Edwardsville, Ill, and then finally to Teutopolis. He was on the ocean seven weeks.

Mr Kahtz was married three times. His first wife, Alma Lueck, leaving him a daughter, now Mrs Bertha Ramming of St Louis, Two are deceased: (Mary) Mrs Henry Koester of Uniontown. Wash, who died Jan 2, 1909 and Michael who died as a young man. His second wife was Mrs Mary Tapphorn, two children born to them died in infancy. After her death, he married Mrs Josephine Anheuser, nee Hutmacher.

Of the children born to them and living are: Frank, Pete, (Mary) Mrs Matt Nosbisch, Louis and William of the united States navy, USAS New Yorkshire, which left Los Angeles, Dec 26, 1928, on a cruise until August 1929. Anna and Leo died in infancy. Henry at the age of nine. Mr Kahtz's stepson, John Anheuser, was killed in Oklahoma City, Sept 26, 1898 Funeral services will be held at St Francis Church, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Mr Kahtz was a loyal member of the St Peter's Men's Sodality.

He is survived by six children, seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and other relatives.
