Clara M. Garrelts, 98, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion. Clara was born in rural Clay County, on November 3, 1908 to Ulfert Christian & Sophia Johanna (Flesner) Ocker.

Clara was baptized on December 13, 1908 & confirmed on April 1, 1923 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil. She attended school at District 63 in Clay County. On April 2, 1930, she married Boyd F. Garrelts at Immanuel Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1987. She was a homemaker and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been very active in the choir, altar committee, circle member, made communion service cover and baptismal napkins and on the flower committee. She was a member of the Spring Ranch Homemakers. Her hobbies included: quilting, flowers, gardening, raising chickens and field work.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband; granddaughter, Janice Koepke, four brothers and seven sisters.
