Mrs. John Huhmann, well known and respected woman of near Tuscumbia, passed away Thursday, July 30, at 2 a.m. at the age of 62 years, 8 months, and 20 days. Mrs. Huhmann suffered a stroke the Saturday preceding her death and did not regain consciousness. Josephine Boeckmann, was born November 10, 1879, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Boeckmann. In the year 1897, she was married to John Huhmann and this union was blessed with ten children, three of which died in infancy and Anna passed away in 1938 at the age of 25 years. those surviving are her husband and the following children: Joseph, Anton, Regina and Fred of Tuscumbia, Ben of Meta, Mary (Mrs. John Herbrandt) of Jefferson City; 14 grandchildren, one sister, two brothers and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the St. Lawrence Church at St. Elizabeth Saturday, August 1. She was a lifelong member of the St. Lawrence church and a member of the St. Ann's Sodality. The services were conducted by Rev. H. J. Mayer, pastor, and Rev. Leo Oligschlaeger of Jefferson City. The pallbearers were her nephews, Joseph and William Brenneke, Lawrence, George, William Huhmann, and Lawrence Boeckmann. Interment was in the St. Lawrence cemetery. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Wm. Boeckmann and son Lawrence and daughter Mary. Fred Boeckmann, Wm. Luecke, Lawrence Huhmann of Okeene, OK, Mr. & Mrs. Geo. Huhmann and three children of Hitchcock, OK, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Hammann and three children, Mrs. Elizabeth Goeller, Mr. & Mrs. Herman Goeller and two children, Mr. & Mrs.. Wm. Huhmann and daughter, Mary Ann, Mrs. John Herbrandt, Jr. and daughter, Marilyn, Cornia Huhmann and Irene Luetkemeyer, all of Jefferson City, Mr. & Mrs. Clem Iven of Eldon.
