Joël Bittner, 49, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 18, 2011, in Eau Claire. He was born on June 9, 1961, in Evanston, IL.
Joël graduated from Eau Claire North High School and later from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire with an A.A.S. in Woodworking. He also became a WI licensed real estate broker that same year. He belonged to the Northern Wisconsin Realtors Association. He renovated and built apartment buildings in Sacramento, CA; Chicago, IL; and Eau Claire.
Joël loved nature, hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, archery and traveling.
Joël is survived by his daughter, Stasha Bittner of Eau Claire; two year old grandson, Joshua; his mother, Anne-Marie Bittner of Eau Claire; his brother, Michael, wife Janet and son Bryan of Cape Coral, FL; an uncle, Edmond Bouteille of Miscon, France; his aunts, Mary Bittner of Seabrook, MD, and Régine Bouteille of Paris, France, and many cousins and friends in France and the U.S.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Bittner of Eau Claire; his grandmothers, Viola Bittner of Marenisco, MI, and Suzanne Bouteille of Marseille, France; both grandfathers, Ernest Bouteille and George Bittner, Sr., died before he was born; his uncles and aunt, Al and Lorraine Tudesco of Eau Claire and George Bittner of Seabrook, MD.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 31, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Princeton Valley Golf Course in Eau Claire. Private services will be held at the Hoover Chapel in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
