PACIFIC GROVE - Jennie Donato, 96, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2010 at Pacific Grove Convalescent Home.
She was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA, to Carmelo and Conchetta Davi. Jennie married Carmelo Donato on October 5, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY where they lived until they moved to Monterey in 1948. They were together for 48 years until he passed away in 1982.
Jennie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her two daughters, Louise Cutino (John Mulchaey) and Carol (Ed) Jarecki; a sister, Sally Thomas of Scotdale, PA; six grandchildren, Peter Jr. (Marisol) Cutino living in Seville, Spain, Paul Cutino in Monterey, Anna Cutino in Thousand Oaks, Lisa (Mike) DiMaggio in Seaside, Chris (Lisa) Palma in Lafayette, CA and Lori Lewis in Monterey; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A family service was held at the Santa Rosalia Chapel and Jennie was laid to rest at San Carlos Cemetery. Donations in Jennie's name may be made to: San Carlos Restoration Fund, the Visiting Nurses Association or Hospice. Published in The Monterey Herald on January 8, 2011
