Leo R. Yankevich, 1042 Fruit Ave., Farrell, died at 9:55 a.m. Thursday (1-11-01) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 69.

Mr. Yankevich was born March 6, 1931, in Sharon to John and Frances Jetkiwicz Yankevich.

He retired from General American Transportation Corp.'s former Masury plant and was a self-employed tree trimmer and electrician.

Mr. Yankevich was a member of St. Adalbert's Church and the Slovak Home, both Farrell; and American Carpatho-Russian Citizens and Social Club, Sharon.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Katherine Bordell, whom he married Nov. 16, 1954, at home; three daughters, Debbie Bordell, Farrell; Roseann Hogg, Hermitage; and Kathy Bialk, Jackson, N.J.; two sons, Alex Yankevich, Hermitage; and Leo J. Yankevich, Gliwice, Poland; a sister, Anna Anderson, Orchard Park, N.Y.; and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Sophie Pirlo, Antionette Vagh, Victoria Rock, Elizabeth Senay and Jane Walters; and four brothers, Victor, John, Harry and Jack Yankevich.
