Elizabeth Jekel, 103, Greeley, died Friday, Dec. 25, at the Kenton Nursing Home.
She was born May 10, 1884, to Fred and Marie (Kahl) Schaefer in Weisenmiller, Russia.
Mrs. Jekel came to the US with her husband, Fred, in 1910. They settled in Kansas and later moved to Riverton, Wyoming. They came to Windsor, where they farmed, in 1917.
Mrs. Jekel was a charter member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Windsor. She was a Gold Star mother and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies Aid of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two sons, Alex Jekel and Ray Jekel, both of Fort Collins; four daughters, Mrs. David (Lydia) Winter of Greeley, Mrs. Harry (Esther) Kassmeier of Schuyler, Neb., Mrs. Harold (Olinda)(Jean) Schwindt of Fort Collins, and Mrs. Dan (Helen) Kenz of Pueblo; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2pm Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Windsor. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor.
