Rosie Ahrens was born June 30, 1922, in Cook, Nebraska to Brent and Augusta (Knake) Wilken. She passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 7 months.

Rosie married Werner Bolles on December 25, 1941 in Sterling, Nebraska. To this union they raised 3 children Darrell, Donna and Delton. Werner passed away in April of 1971. On November 20, 1972 she married Harry Ahrens in Lincoln, Nebraska. Harry passed away in March of 1987. Rosie worked as a Dietitian at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Wheatons, Sewing Factory, Nutcracker and also being a housewife. Rosie was a member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, and was confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Sterling. She enjoyed having a big garden of both flowers and vegetables, loved family get togethers, square dancing, polka music, playing accordion and watching Monday night wrestling.

Surviving family includes Children: Darrell Bolles and wife Kathy of Lincoln, NE, Donna Dermann and husband Dennis of Lincoln, NE, Delton Bolles of Murdock, NE, 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren, 3 Step Great grandchildren, Sisters: Sophie Beck of Louisville, NE, Hilda Kasl and husband Dick of Wilber, NE, Sister-in-laws: Tina Wilken of Cook, NE, Dorothy Wilken of Bellingham, WA, Joy Bolles of CA, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Werner Bolles, Husband Harry Ahrens, Brothers: John Wilken, Henry Wilken, Herman Wilken, William Wilken, Ben Wilken, Sister: Alma Armknecht, Sena Behrens, Daughter-in-law: Connie Bolles, Grandson Spencer Bolles.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska. Family suggests memorials to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.

Visitation will be on Tuesday February 1, 2011 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. all at the funeral home. The casket will be open one hour before services at the Church.
