Funeral services for Cruz Castro Arias, 71, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The Reverend Jeremias Cruz will be officiating. The burial will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Arias died Tuesday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. He was born March 10, 1936 in Jaral, Guanajuato, Mexico and was the son of Porfiria Arias of Jaral, Guanajuato, Mexico and the late Magdaleno Castro. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Guadelupe Castro.
Survivors include six sons, Cruz Castro and Fernando Castro, both of Jacksonville, Texas; Abel Castro and Salvador Castro, both of Harrisonburg and Jose Cruz Castro and Javier Castro, both of Mexico DF; five sisters, Teresa and Juana Santamaria and Yolanda Romero, all of Harrisonburg, Veronica Luna of Jacksonville, Texas and Mariaelena Castro of Mexico, DF; two brothers, Reyes Mendez Arias of Henderson, and Dolores Castro Arias of Jaral, Mexico. He is also survived by 36 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
