Clifford C. Bittner, 66 years old, a former resident of Connellsville, died Tuesday afternoon at Deal, near Meyersdale, the old home place. He had been ill throughout the past winter. Mr. Bittner was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathanial Bittner and was a former West Penn motorman, running chiefly on the main line for a number of years and later was employed in the lighting office of the West Penn Power company. He sold his property on South Ninth street, West Side, and built and operated a garage at Pennsville. The family continued to reside there until after the death of Mr. Bittner's father when it moved to the home place. There, Mr. Bittner had a small farm and a gasoline station. Besides his widow, Mrs. Laura Bittner, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth, Vernon and Glenn of near Deal; a daughter, Luella, married and residing at Pocahontas, and a sister, Miss Susan Bittner of near the old home place. The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, at the White Oak Reformed Church of which Mr. Bittner was a member. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
