A lifelong resident of Greeley, Fred farmed with his father for several years, then did semi trucking for more than 40 years for Noffsinger Manufacturing, Farr Farms and Greeley Truck Line. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ where he was confirmed in 1928.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, a daughter, Nancy Brethauer; two sons, Robert and Alvin "Corky"; four sisters, Kate Flot, Mollie Reinick, Dorothy Printz, and Anna Schaub; four brothers, George, Carl, Philip and David are deceased.
