H. LEYENDECKER DIES IN SLEEP;
FUNERAL YESTERDAY
Funeral services for Herbert Leyendecker were held at 3 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday) afternooon at Columbus Funeral home. Rev. Logan Cummings of First Baptist church officiating. Mr. Leyendecker apparently died in his sleep early Tuesday morning. He had been making his home with his sister, Miss Zerlina Leyendecker. She went to the back porch, where he was sleeping, at about 6:15 to call him for coffee and he did not answer. A doctor was called who said he had been dead only a short while. Mr. Leyendecker was 67 in June. His wife died of cancer a number of years ago. Besides Miss Leyendecker, he is survived by another sister, Mrs. Frank Stuckly, of Houston, and 3 brothers, Weldon, Jack and Clifford of Columbus. A nephew, John Stuckly, lives in Schulenburg. Burial was in Zimmerscheidt cemetery.
