Evelyn Cerny Britton, 64, of rural Lone Tree died Friday, Aug. 15 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

Services were held Monday at Sorden's Funeral Home in Lone Tree with the Rev. Albert Best officiating. Burial was in Lone Tree Cemetery.

Mrs. Britton was born Dec. 31, 1921 in Riverside, the daughter of Frank and Amelia Dvorak Mincer. She married Robert Cerny June 17, 1939 in Rock Island. He died in 1967. She later married Herb Britton.

She had been employed at Victor Metals, Proctor & Gamble and Owens Brush.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Roberta Zaruba of Lone Tree; two sisters, Hester Larew of Lone Tree and Wilma Wasson of Columbus City; and two brothers, Joe Mincer of Lone Tree and Frank Mincer of rural Riverside.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Jim Larew, John Dvorak, Dwight Britton, Floyd Prymek, Homer Eden and Duane Stock.
