Wilma Wasson, 95, of Columbus City died Monday, June 27, 2011, at her home in Lone Tree.
Born May 21, 1916, in Fremont Township, she was the daughter of Frank and Amelia Dvorak Mincer. On April 12, 1941, she married Lloyd A. Wasson in Kahoka, Mo. He died Feb. 13, 1978.
Mrs. Wasson was a homemaker. She was a member of Columbus City United Methodist Church in Columbus City, C.C.I.C. and Columbus Junction American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering and gardening.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Schafer of Lone Tree; one son, Jim Wasson of Conesville; two grandchildren; one brother, Frank Mincer of Riverside; and one sister, Hester Larew of Lone Tree.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, her parents, four sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction.
The funeral for Mrs. Wasson will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, with the Rev. Al Coffin officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery.
