Phyllis (Bichler) Kuhn, 91, Bismarck, died Feb. 14, 2011, at Medcenter One St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at

11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Katherine's Church, Braddock. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at St. Vincent's Care Center and from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7 p.m.

Philipina "Phyllis" was born Oct. 31, 1919, on a farm southwest of Linton, the daughter of Mike and Mary (Wickenheiser) Bichler. She married Valentine Kuhn on Jan. 16, 1940, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic, Strasburg. They lived west of Linton for a short time before moving to Braddock, where she worked for the Braddock Public School. She moved to Bismarck in 1997. Due to health reasons, she moved to Marillac Manor in 2003 and then St. Vincent's Care Center in 2006.

She was a member of St. Katherine's Church, Altar Society, Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her children, three daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Paul Kalberer, Wichita, Kan., Shirly and Dennis Benz, Moffit, and Rita and Larry Martin, Spokane, Wash.; her son, Lee Kuhn, Omaha, Neb.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Susan, Spokane, and Bryan and Katie, Prairie Village, Kan.; one daughter-in-law, Dolly Kuhn, Omaha, Neb.; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Bichler, Bismarck, and Alex Bichler and Leo Bichler, Linton; and nine sisters, Margaret Ternes and Anna Mary Mosset, both of Bismarck, Angie Miller, Spokane, Bernice Jahner, Appleton, Wis., Sally Bernhardt, Beverly Noel, Agnes Mosset and Lorraine Mosset, all of Linton, and Theresa Hager, Braddock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Valentine, in 1995; her son, Pius, in 2010; parents, Mike and Mary Bichler; one sister, Victoria Jahner; and three brothers-in-law, Wendlin Mosset, Aloys Ternes and Buddy Jahner.
