Raymond O. Zweifel, Lubbock, Texas, 69, died July 2, 1992, at University Medical Center, Lubbock. He was born June 18, 1923, at Waldo, the son of Samuel and Edith Schneider Zweifel. A resident of Lubbock since 1976, he was an insurance adjuster. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church, Lubbock, president and charter member of Jaycees, former justice of the peace, both at Atmore, Ala., past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and the American Legion, both at Lubbock, VFW, McPherson, an honorary life member of the New Mexico claims Association, president of the Kansas-Oklahoma Claims Association and the Greater Lubbock Chapter of the retired Officers Association, both of Lubbock. He was holder of the Presidential United Citation for Bravery, the Philippine Liberation Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. On June 14, 1944, he married (Mary) Susan Yarbrough at Pensacola, Fla. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Bill, Houston; a daughter Melany Zweifel, Houston; mother, Edith, McPherson; a brother, Sam, McLean, Va; two sisters Sally Schuckman, McPherson; and Doris Whisinant, Mount Shasta, Calif.; 3 grandchildren.

Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Resthaven Funeral Home, Lubbock, was in charge of arrangements.
