Alexander Quast, 95 of Watkins, passed away on June 3, 1999. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church for Alexander Quast, 95, who died Thursday at Hilltop Good Samaritan Center.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ertl Funeral Home. Watkins Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Watkins followed by parish prayers at 7.Alexander Quast was born in Kingston Township to Joseph and Bertha (Otto) Quast. He married Bertha Ackerman on April 7, 1931, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Forest City. He farmed in the Watkins area for about 20 years. He then drove trucks for Sonstegards Produce in Paynesville for about 20 years until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Watkins and Watkins Senior Citizens.Survivors include his wife; daughters and son, Kathleen Nohner and Delores Dockendorf of Watkins, Betty Hennen of Maplewood, Mary Heinen of St. Joseph, and Norbert of South St. Paul; 26 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and brother and sister, Basilius of Watkins, and Minnie Knisley of Redwood Falls.He was preceded in death by brothers, Anthony, Sylvester and Leander.
