Jane G. Williams

Jane G. Williams, age 84, of Ann Arbor, Michigan formerly of Denville, NJ and Saylorsburg, PA passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2011 at home. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles H. Williams, Sr. in 1999 after 50 years of marriage. Jane was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on July 10, 1926 the daughter of the late John & Mary (Swift) Glennon.

In 1947 she received her nursing degree from The Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkes Barre, PA. For many years, Jane spent caring for others at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ until retiring in 1982 and relocating to Saylorsburg, PA in 1985.

She was actively involved at the American Legion Post #927 Ladies Auxiliary in Gilbert, where she served as secretary and sergeant at arms, a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary in Kunkletown. She was a volunteer with the Monroe County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program; the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days, The American Legion Poppy Days in Pennsylvania. She was also a member of the American Nurses' Association in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and a former member of the Chestnut Ridge Senior Citizens in Kunkletown.

After relocating to Ann Arbor, Michigan with her family in 2006, she enjoyed the Pittsfield Township Senior Citizen's Group and the Pittsfield Red & Purple Foxy Ladies with many wonderful new friends. Jane was of the Episcopal faith and was a former member of the Church of the Savior in Denville, NJ.

We have been blessed with the presence of Jane in our lives, and we will always remember her love for each of us. She will be deeply missed by her children, Charles H. Williams Jr., and his wife, Christina of Gurnee, IL; son, Allen P. Williams and his wife, Tina of Gurnee, IL; daughter, Charlene M. Calcagno and her husband, Steven of Ann Arbor, MI. She was a loving and proud grandmother to her four grandchildren, Charles H. Williams, III of Milwaukee, WI; Stefanie Calcagno Lorey and her husband Benjamin of Milan, MI; Lisa Calcagno of Royal Oak, MI; Jessica Calcagno of Ann Arbor, MI and step-granddaughter, Gabrielle Lorey. Also survived by her sisters: Marcella Hogrebe; Maureen Bilbou; Winnie Kitchen; Theresa Cool; brother: John Glennon; sister-in-law: Anita Sasso and many nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her siblings, Catherine Smith, Leonard, Frank and Joseph Glennon.
