Elva passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the West Point Living Center.
Elva Marie Wobken was born February 8, 1917 on a farm in Wayne Co., Nebraska to Fred and Adele (Suhr) Weitzenkamp. She was baptized at home and at the age nine the family moved to a farm near Uehling, NE in Dodge Co. She was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church rural Hooper, NE. Elva attended Dodge Co. Rural School District #60 and graduated from Uehling High School in 1934. She worked for neighboring farm families prior to her marriage. On January 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Walter Wobken at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Hooper. The couple moved to a farm south of Craig, NE for two years and in 1943 moved to a farm they purchased north of Beemer, NE. They remained on the farm until moving into Beemer in 1969. She continued to live in Beemer after her husband passed away in 1996. She later moved to the St. Joseph's Retirement Community in West Point and since 2005 has been residing at the West Point Living Center. Elva was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Pender, enjoyed quilting and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-Judy Flock, and brothers-Walter, Alvin, Gilbert, Arthur and Marvin Weitzenkamp.
