Frank Pfeiffer, sixty-nine, 834 Lake St., a former semi professional football and baseball player in the Lancaster area, died unexpectedly at 10 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of two days. Born in Lancaster the son of the late Frank and Anna Mary Fetter Pfeiffer, he was a resident of this area his entire life. He played quarterback for the old Eighth Ward and Lafayette football teams and was a member of the Jolly Rovers baseball team. He retired from the Hamilton Watch Co., in December of 1955 after 43 years service as a dial maker. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 299 and was a former president of the Actives Social Club. He is survived by his wife, at home, and the following children: Richard E., St. Petersburg, Fla.; Frederick J., LaHabra, Calif.; Mrs. Florence G. Hartman, at home and Frank Jr., Lancaster. Also six grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Moblatt, Upper Darby and a brother, Harold R., Lancaster. (Intelligencer Journal - Feb 2, 1959)
