Marian Fynquist

Marian Cecil Dehner Fynquist, 80, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Burlington, died Thursday, June 6, 1996, in El Paso.

Born March 31, 1916, in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Carl and Edna Dehner.

She married Myron Fynquist on Aug. 11, 1945. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fynquist lived in Burlington for 48 years and was a 1939 graduate of Burlington School of Nursing. She served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in San Diego and Pearl Harbor. She had lived in El Paso for the past 31 years.

She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Burlington and El Paso, where she served as an elder and past president of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She also did volunteer work with Hospice of El Paso, Mountain View Nursing Home and the Thrift Shop of First Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, (ed.-living); (ed.-living); five brothers, Joseph Dehner of Viola, Ill., Ernest Dehner of East Moline, Ill., Delbert Dehner of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ralph Dehner and David Dehner, both of Burlington; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, her parents and three brothers.
