The former Viola Schlosser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Schlosser, was born at Dodge (Nebr.) May 15, 1906. She married Conner Whorton in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sept. 6, 1926. The couple lived in Lincoln, Omaha and Snyder before moving to Scribner in 1937 where her husband has since been in business.
She was a member of the United Lutheran Church of Scribner and had been a Sunday school teacher for 18 years. She had taught school near Dodge for two years. She was a past district president of the missionary society of her church and was a past president of the church women. Mrs. Whorton died Tuesday afternoon at her home after being in ill health for several years.
She is survived by her husband; her mother; one son, Robert Whorton of Milwaukee, Wis.; one daughter, Mrs. Vance (Bonnie) Pettitt (or Petitt), Omaha; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Elwood Schlote, Omaha.
