LONGTIME AREA
RESIDENT DIES
HERE TODAY

Mrs. Ester N. Carrasco, a resident of South Eddy County for 40 years, died earl today in a local hospital at the age of 58. She lived with her husband, Joe Carrasco, on Route 1, Otis.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight in West Funeral Home Chapel; and funeral mass will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from San Jose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Edward Collett officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Mrs. Carrasco was born in Mexico, in February of 1902; moving to the United States when she was young. She lived for a short time in Radford, Tex., and came to Eddy County by covered wagon in 1920. She married Joe M. Carrasco in 1923, and they have lived in the Lovington-Otis area since that time.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons David of Otis and Simon of Grants; a brother, Faustino Navarro of Carlsbad; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Hernandez and Mrs. Matilda Martinez, both of Carlsbad; and 12 grandchildren.

Pall bearers will be Manuel Fasquez, Pilar Navarette, Cruz Fernandez, Tom Duarte, Ramon Gonzalez and Candelario Carrasco Jr.
