In 1844, Rebecca(22) left Kleingraben in the Thuringia province of Germany for the port city of Bremerhaven with parents Sebastian(49) and Catherine(48), plus sister Elizabeth(11). There they boarded the three-masted sailing ship Washington. The ship was 110 feet long and 28 feet wide and designed to carry 149 passengers. After 49 days at sea, the ship arrived at New Orleans on October 26, 1844. There they boarded a river steamer for a four day 900 mile journey up the Mississippi River to Saint Louis, Missouri. They then went to Adams County, Illinois and settled at Columbus. Rebecca wed Francis Naderhoff there on February 26, 1846. To this union was born six children:
1) Louis Warble on Jul 6, 1848
2) John(#1) in Jul 1850 (died Oct 1850)

In September 1850 they moved four miles north to Coatsburg. John(#1) died there in October and was buried in Gray Cemetery.

4) Caroline Louise on May 25, 1854
5) John(#2) on May 12, 1856
6) Christina Catherine on Jan 18, 1859

Francis died on July 27, 1859, and Rebecca married Lutheran minister Henry Klockemeyer on October 23, 1863, in Adams County, Illinois. In 1869, Henry Klockemeyer moved to Lincoln, Nebraska area to minister in a local church; with him was wife Rebecca and her children John and Christina Naderhoff. Christina wed Henry Lostroh on January 25, 1875, and John wed Catherine Busboom on May 8, 1879. On August 21, 1886, Rebecca divorced Henry Klockemeyer and changed her name back to Naderhoff. She settled close to her children near Emerald, Nebraska and in 1889, her son August moved his family from Adams County, Illinois to Nebraska to be close to her. Henry Klockemeyer was born August 18, 1824, in Oldendorf, Germany and died on January 20, 1899. Rebecca died five months later.
