Bernard "Ben" Luebbert, 80, of West Point, died Saturday March 12, 2011 at Colonial Haven in Beemer.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church with Reverend Gerry Gonderinger celebrant. Wake service 7:00 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church. Burial at St. Michael's Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to GA or CC Endowments. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Bernard was born May 20, 1930 in Cuming County on the family farm to John and Elizabeth (Hagedorn) Luebbert. He attended school at St. Anthony's Catholic School, St. Charles. Ben served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bernard married Rita Stieren on November 10, 1954 St. Aloysius Catholic Church. The couple farmed near St. Charles, moving to West Point in 2004.

Bernard was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and V.F.W. He was active at St. Mary's Church and enjoyed playing cards, visiting and his family.

Survivors include his children, Lois (Joe) French of Lincoln, Judy (John) Davis of Harlan, IA, Bonnie (Tom) Ruskamp of Dodge, Myron (Moira) of Westminster, CO, and Roger (Staci) of West Point; sisters Wilma Gentrup of West Point and Elsie Popken of Fremont; grandchildren Julia Plugge, Kiley and Dustin Mevert, Chris Davis, Danielle, Courtney, and Garrett Ruskamp, Rachel and Evan Luebbert and Adyson and Jessa Luebbert; great grandchild Kyler Plugge. Preceded in death by his wife Rita in 2007, brothers Casper, Leo and Fred Luebbert, sister Irene Luebbert and one grandchild.
