Pipestone County Star, Feb. 13, 1923:
Peter Lorenzen, a well known farmer of the southern part of Pipestone county, died at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in a hospital at Rochester, to which place he had been taken for treatment for injuries sustained when he fell from the hay loft of his barn on Thursday afternoon. He fell a distance of eight feet to the floor of the barn and was injured about the head in such a way that he did not regain consciousness after the accident. What caused him to fall is not definitely known, but some are of the opinion that he had a stroke or apoplexy. He was found within an hour after the accident and his condition was at once seen to be critical. He was taken to Rochester and his death occurred a few hours after his arrival there. The remains were brought from Rochester Sunday night, and taken to the home in Elmer township. It is understood that the funeral will be held on Wednesday, and burial will be in the Trosky cemetery. The late Mr. Lorenzen was fifty-three years of age and had been a resident of Pipestone County for 22 years, owning and occupying a farm about four miles southeast of Trosky. He is survived by his wife and 10 children, to whom many friends extend sympathy in their sad loss.
