Catherine J. Federer, 86, formerly of 1624 N. 15th St., died Thursday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a short illness. She. had resided at Sunny Ridge the past 1 1/2 years. The former Catherine J. Ardts was born Oct 22, 1893, in the Town of Lima, daughter of John and Catherine Rammer Ardts. She attended St. George Catholic School, Six Corners. On April 17, 1917, she and Henry F. Federer were married at St. George Catholic Church, Six Corners. The couple farmed in the Town of Sheboygan Falls until 1941, when they moved to Sheboygan. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish and its Christian Women's Society. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Clemens of Rhinelander and Jerome of Canoga Park, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. James (Lorraine) Lau of Route 1, Newton; seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Haen, Mrs. Rose Parman and Mrs. Clara Steger, all of Sheboygan; Mrs. Emma Kurscheld, Mrs. Cecelia Billman and Mrs. Agnes Billman, all of Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Betty Meyer of Dacada; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Dominic Church by Rev. John Simon, associate pastor. The Mass will be preceded by family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Kroos-Mason Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. A parish and Christian Women's Society bible vigil will be held there at 7 p.m. Sunday.
